Barry talks about operating a radio station, what it takes, what it means and how you do it.
My favourite quote of the episode is "We rely on fundraising. We have two or three raffles a year. And it's very satisfying when you're selling raffle tickets or people come oh, I love listening to you. I don't want a ticket, but here's $50. Now, you know, that's the sort of thing that, that's the feedback we need because,  that, that doesn't naturally happen with, with radio as a broadcast format. I get a buzz out of that."

Don talks about being a missionary, what it takes, what it means and how you do it.
My favourite quote of the episode is "This is all the things that I've learned about with it,  and these are the things that I go and I teach people how they can lead.  That none of us are gonna be perfect, let's face it mate, you know, none of us. But I can go and I can teach these people how they can live more of a sinless life. None of us are gonna make it to perfection. There's only one perfect, and that's Jesus."

Wednesday Sep 24, 2025

Chris talks about being The Flying Painter, what it takes, what it means and how you do it.
My favourite quote of the episode is "Oh it's like just a passion I always had  since a young teenager. And now we can use this experience and the aircraft that we have to go out and quote where we can and fly into these places. And I'll also use it not just for business, but mainly for recreation because it's something I'm passionate about. And,  yeah, I just love aviation in general."

Duncan talks about being a radio show host, what it takes, what it mens and how you do it.
My favourite quote of the episode is "The old expression practice makes perfect, is one that I've always said is incorrect. It's perfect practice makes perfect. Because if you keep practicing the mistakes over and over again and not learn from them, you know, it doesn't get you any better at all."

Karen talks about cycling from Busselton Jetty to Eucla and back, what it takes, what it means and how you do it.
My favourite quote of the episode is "I think what it highlighted for me is just how powerful community is. And when we create mechanisms to divide community, it's not helpful. But if we can find ways to unite community, that says a lot, it's huge."

Wednesday Sep 03, 2025

Richard talks about digitising military history records, what it takes, what it means and how you do it.
My favourite quote of the episode is "They got a big three meter by three meter canvas photograph done of that pyramid and he donated it to us. And we've been using that as a backdrop when we go out on site. And, this lady came and said, oh, this person here is my great, great grandfather and, we know that, he had medals, but nobody knows where they are. And we went and looked on our website and we had him there and it said that his medals were collected by her great aunt, who was still alive. She didn't tell me she had the medals and we've talked about it heaps of times. So she was gonna go straight back and talk to this lady, show me these medals."

Wednesday Aug 27, 2025

Richard talks about being an amateur photographer and an employed photographer, what it takes, what it means and how you do it.
My favourite quote of the episode is "Will Rogers said that some people can learn by reading. Some people can learn by observing others. And some just have to pee on the electric fence themselves. So in the case of photography, you can watch others be lectured to read about the things that happen, or sometimes you just have to go buy a camera and hunt for the fence."

Wednesday Aug 20, 2025

Dianne talks about adult ballet, what it takes, what it means and how you do it.
My favourite quote of the episode is "There's no pressure to do these little community performances. But I think it is wonderful and we've always gained a lot of respect when we have done a little performance or exhibition somewhere. I think they're amazed, and as I am, on the ability of some of these people that they're seeing in front of them and their ages. So that's always great. You can't be what you can't see. So I think it's great when they see them and, hopefully then they, think it's an okay thing to do and not be laughed at for starting up ballet at the age of 70."

Wednesday Aug 13, 2025

Neil talks about being an adaptive cyclist, what it takes, what it means and how you do it.
My favourite quote of the episode is "It's all about the enjoyment of getting out there with some friends and having some fun, and just knowing life is sort of, no matter what's happening in the background, life's still enjoyable."

Wednesday Aug 06, 2025

Richard talks about scale modelling, what it takes, what it means and how you do it.
My favourite quote of the episode is "I've heard it said that there are a number of things that everybody's got inside that they want satisfied. One is a desire to build things, right. One is a desire to collect things. One is a desire for physical activity where you are playing and doing something, and one is a desire for social activity. Now, I don't know whether you get that much playing or physical activity or winning with scale modeling. But you do get the competitiveness of winning at a exhibition if you get that. And all of those four things are very well catered for in scale modeling. You are building. All right, I'm collecting, I've got 200 to 300 scale model airplanes. I don't go into the competitions, but I do appreciate people do enjoy those competitions like that and the social part of it. Well, like I say, three times a week and away you go. You have a grand time of it."
